Two people were booked into the Hall County jail after a yearlong investigation into illegal drug activity in the area, according to a news release from the Hall County Sheriff’s Office. The suspects are Johnny Ray Tanner, 56, of Gainesville, and Jessica Paige Dean, 32, of Oakwood.
During the investigation, authorities say they seized more than $120,000 worth of illegal narcotics, including more than 3 pounds of methamphetamine, from a location in eastern Hall County.
Drug investigators and K9 teams from the Hall County Sheriff’s Office and Gainesville Police Department executed a search warrant at a location in the 3200 block of Roy Parks Road on May 29. Authorities say they found drugs “hidden in various locations around the property.”
In addition to seizing 3.25 lbs. of methamphetamine, investigators say they seized psilocybin mushrooms, 66 alprazolam tablets, and a felony amount of marijuana (over 1 ounce).
During the search, investigators say they also found two rifles, a shotgun and two handguns on the property. The search also uncovered a stolen skid steer.
Investigators charged both suspects with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, trafficking meth, and other drug offenses. In addition, they charged Tanner with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and theft by receiving.
Both suspects are being held in the Hall County Jail without bond.
