The Hall County Board of Education will hold three public hearings on its plan to increase property taxes over the rollback millage rate. The Board last week announced its intention to set the millage rate at 15.99 which is 11.31% higher than the 14.365 mills rollback rate.
While the proposed millage rate is less than the current 16.485 millage, it will still generate more revenue due to property reassessments. Whether or not an individual’s property tax bill increases or decreases depends on that reassessment.
The public hearings will be held at the Hall County School District Office at 711 Green Street in Gainesville as follows:
July 18 at 6:00 p.m.
July 25 at 11:30 a.m.
July 25 at 6:00 p.m.
