Habersham’s Jim Barnett turning heads nationally with viral video

Habersham Raiders upcoming senior Jim Barnett turned heads across the country with a recent set of viral videos on twitter.

The athletic wide receiver was at The Nike Opening Regional event in Atlanta recently. Not only was he named MVP of the camp, but many videos captured him juking out a fellow camper and doing a back-flip. A number of videos surfaced, and were tweeted out by major media outlets, including Bleacher Report (below).

At 6-foot and 165 lbs, Barnett is a player to watch in his upcoming senior season. The Class of 2018 athlete played for Habersham Central in 2014 and 2015 before transferring to Gainesville in 2016. He was the leading receiver for the Red Elephants last season, hauling in 36 catches for 537 yards and 6 TD, all team-highs. He added 53 rushing yards on 19 carries, and at QB completed 10-of-22 passes for 108 yards when getting a few snaps, giving him 698 total yards.

Playing a little on defense, he tallied seven tackles as well. Barnett had 20 catches for 232 yards as a sophomore at Habersham Central, scoring one touchdown, adding 193 kick return yards and 14 total tackles. As a freshman in 2014, Barnett had a 2-yard rushing touchdown, but spent most of his time in return duties (57 yds) and on defense (25 tackles, INT).

Barnett returns to Habersham Central for his senior season.
