Public school students in Habersham and White Counties return to class this morning following the Christmas and New Year break. It’s going to be an extremely cold start to the second half of this school year. Temperatures are expected to be in the upper teens and a wind chill advisory remains in effect for much of North Georgia.
Very cold wind chills between 5 to 10 below zero are expected Thursday until noon. The cold wind chills will cause frostbite in as little as 30 minutes to exposed skin. Extra precautions should be taken. Bundle up with layered clothing to protect yourselves and children from the cold.
Classes will run on a regular schedule.
