For Habersham County Little League All-Stars, the District 7 tournaments for Rookie League and Sandlot 9 have come to a close.
The Toccoa teams won both District Tournaments.
In the Rookie League, Habersham (7/8) fell in its opening game to Toccoa, 11-3. They rebounded with a high-scoring 16-12 win over Madison, but fell to Hart 12-4 in the elimination bracket. While Hart lost 17-2 against Franklin in its first game, it rebounded with the win over Habersham and a win over Franklin in the elimination bracket to advance back to the winner’s bracket. After a shocking 16-12 win over Toccoa, it was a must-win for both teams in the District Tournament Championship. Toccoa rebounded with the win.
In the Sandlot 9 All-Star play, Habersham lost 7-6 to Toccoa in its first game on June 1, but in the elimination bracket took down Franklin 11-5. In a rematch with Toccoa, Habersham wasn’t able to pull out the win for the Sandlot 9 District 7 Championship.
