Habersham schools COVID-19 numbers at their lowest since October

Last week, Habersham County Schools reported a total of 11 cases between faculty, staff and students. This week, those numbers continue to drop with the system seeing a total of 7 cases.

The last time numbers were this low was in October, when the school system reported cases dropping from the low 20s to a total of two cases system-wide.

There are a total of 4 reported student cases and 3 reported staff cases through the entire school system, according to Habersham Schools’ Director of Nursing & Health Services Crystal Holcomb.

Clarkesville Elementary, Hazel Grove Elementary and Habersham Central High School reported student cases of COVID-19 this week, though the numbers are minuscule in comparison to how cases looked at the beginning of the school year.

The Habersham County School System continues to offer virtual learning opportunities for students and vaccination opportunities for interested faculty and staff.
