Habersham releases full budget

One day after holding its first public hearing on the budget, Habersham County Tuesday released its full draft version of the document.

The newly-released, 230-page draft proposal outlines the county’s fiscal goals and challenges. It offers more analysis of the proposed spending plan, something the 29-page draft budget which has been publicly posted to the county’s website for weeks, does not do.

Commissioners will hold two more public hearings on the budget on June 21 and 28. Both hearings are set for 6 p.m. at the Habersham County Courthouse. Commissioners are scheduled to vote on a final draft after the last hearing.

The proposed FY 2022 budget does not include a millage rate increase.
