A minor traffic accident involving a Habersham County Sheriff’s deputy temporarily slowed traffic in the Demorest area Tuesday afternoon.
The wreck occurred on Historic U.S. 441 at Eastside Drive around 2 p.m. on Oct. 15.
According to Sgt. Bronson Taylor of the Georgia State Patrol, the deputy was traveling south on Hwy. 441 when he rear-ended a pickup truck attempting to turn left onto Eastside Drive. The deputy reportedly told Taylor the pickup truck driver did not have on his turn signal.
Taylor says the signals were not defective.
No one was injured in the wreck.
This marks the second wreck in less than a week involving a Habersham County sheriff’s patrol car.
A deputy broke his arm in a wreck at Tom Arrendale Interchange on GA 365 near Clarkesville on Saturday, Oct. 12. State troopers say Deputy Zach Beam pulled into the path of a southbound Mazda CX-5, disabling both vehicles.
