Habersham County Schools CLOSED Tuesday due to threat of winter weather

Thousands of Habersham County school students and staff  are getting the day off Tuesday due to the threat of winter weather. Habersham County Superintendent of Schools Matthew Cooper issued the following statement Monday evening:

“Due to Habersham County being placed under a Winter Weather Advisory and due to Governor Kemp closing state offices in Habersham tomorrow, Habersham County Schools will be closed for students and staff on Tuesday, January 29th.”

Tallulah Falls School will also be closed.

“We will continue to monitor conditions throughout the day on Tuesday before making a decision for Wednesday,” says TFS Director of Security Dustin Rogers.

Dozens of schools and businesses in the northern part of the state are closed Tuesday due to possibility of snow and ice moving into the area with Winter Storm Jayden.
