The Habersham County School System has launched a new online registration system that should make it easier for parents to enroll their children in school.
If your child is entering Habersham County Schools for the first time OR is returning after previously being withdrawn for ten days or more, you must register them for the upcoming school year.
“This is actually the first year we have offered online registration instead of paper forms,” says Habersham County School Technology Director Dennis Unbehant. “This allows the paperwork to be done in advance from the comfort of one’s home instead of filling out paper forms in our office.”
It’s a two-step process.
Step 1 – Visit www.habershamschools.com and click on “New Student Registration” in the menu on the left-hand side of the page. Complete the student registration forms.
Step 2 – Visit the Centralized Registration Office on or after July 17, 2017, to provide required documentation (see below) and complete the registration process.
Required documents:
- Certified copy of student birth certificate
- Student social security card (optional)
- Proof of current residence (Current utility bill – power bill, water bill, natural gas, cable/satellite bill showing name and address of parent or guardian) NOTE: If you do not have proof of current 911 address in your name, you must complete the affidavit of residency form with notarized signatures AND attach the current proof of 911 in the owner/lessor name listed on the statement of legal residence form.
- Completed Georgia Immunization Form (Obtained from Health Care Provider)
- Completed Georgia Certificate of Eye, Ear, and Dental Examinations Form (from Health Care Provider)
- Completed Student Registration Form (completed online beginning July 18th 2016)
- Photo ID of parent or guardian registering student (if available)
The Centralized Registration Office is located in the Technology Center on the Habersham Ninth Grade Academy campus at 165 Raider Circle Mount Airy, GA 30563. Visit www.habershamschools.com for office hours and information.
If you don’t have access to computers at home, computers will be available at the Centralized Registration Office for you to use when the office opens on July 17.
