Habersham County hosted a recent event to raise heart awareness.

The Habersham County Pickleball Club on Thursday, Feb. 13, hosted its third annual “Dink Your Heart Out” Round Robin and lunch social. The event continues the club’s commitment to promoting National Heart Month and raising awareness about cardiovascular health.

In 2023, the Habersham County Pickleball Club made a significant contribution by funding an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) and Save Station for the outdoor tennis and pickleball complex. An AED is a portable life-saving device used in cases of sudden cardiac arrest. It delivers an electric shock to the heart, helping to restore its normal rhythm. Easy to use, an AED can be crucial in emergencies when someone’s heart stops.

In 2024, the club expanded its efforts by purchasing two additional AEDs for Habersham County Emergency Services, which placed them on two of their fire engines. This year, at the “Dink Your Heart Out” event, the club proudly donated another AED for an additional engine, continuing their mission to enhance community health and safety.
