A Habersham County man remains in jail after being arrested for child molestation. Sheriff’s investigators took Gregorio Anastasio-Resendiz, 45, into custody on September 30 following a two-month-long investigation. He is accused of having sexual contact with a juvenile female that was known to him, according to the initial complaint.
The girl reported the alleged abuse to authorities on July 21, 2020. She told the reporting officer that Anastasio-Resendiz touched her inappropriately and attempted to have sex with her. He also allegedly Facetimed her and tried to get her to expose herself.
The alleged incidents occurred between May and July at a home in Alto. Investigators charged Anastasio-Resendiz with one felony count of child molestation and booked him into the Habersham County Detention Center. He remains in jail on $11,100 bond.
