Out with the old, in with the new. After months of planning and behind the scenes work Habersham County has finally launched its new website. The new site began popping up on computer screens as people visited the site on February 16.
The site redesign started last year. Augusta-based web design company Southfire did the upgrade. County Manager Phil Sutton says Southfire did the work under its existing contract and the project didn’t cost the county any additional money.
He says the new site offers a better user experience. “The new website is more streamlined. We no longer have obsolete information on the site. It is also easier to navigate when using a telephone or tablet to access the website. Sutton adds, “We hope residents find the layout and navigation features more simple and intuitive to use.”
The new Habersham County website features landscape photos of the area. Upcoming meetings and events are posted to the site. In addition, it includes a Quick Links feature that allows users to quickly access a variety of services including online payments of taxes, traffic tickets and fees; online voter registration: a list of current county job openings; a list of current local bid opportunities; maps; record requests; transit information; and a link to the local sex offender registry, among other things.
