The Habersham County Commission will hold a called meeting early Wednesday afternoon, March 5. Information is limited for the called meeting since the commission will go into closed session to discuss litigation and personnel.
However, sources close to the commission have stated that the personnel discussion will be a continuation of interviewing potential candidates for the County Manager’s position.
Since last September, the commission has received a total of 59 applications for the position through two postings. The initial posting for the position closed in October and the second posting closed in January.
Interim County Manager Tim Sims was appointed to the position during a commission meeting in December until a permanent county manager is selected.
The commission will hold the meeting in the county’s administrative building. Due to the location of the meeting, no action will be taken when they emerge from the closed session. According to state law, county commission’s cannot take official action at a location outside of the county seat. The county’s Administration Building is not inside the city limits of Clarkesville.
The called meeting for the Habersham County Commission will be held on Wednesday, March 5, at 1 p.m.in the Commission Conference Room of the Habersham County Administrative Building located at 130 Jacob’s Way in Clarkesville.
