Habersham Chamber promotional video wins Gold Telly Award

A recent promotional video produced for the Habersham Chamber of Commerce has won a prestigious Gold Telly Award. The hype video My Mountain Moment was filmed and produced last fall by Chamber members and the h20 Creative Group based in Brunswick.

The Telly Awards honor excellence in video and television across all screens.

My Mountain Moment which spotlights area locales and activities won the General – Branded Content category.

“To beat out big ad agencies in big cities with huge budgets compared to our much smaller town and budget – this is all very humbling,” says Chamber president Mary Beth Horton.

Horton, who has been Chamber president since 2018, says it was a long-time goal of hers to create a marketing campaign aimed at tourism. The Mountain Moment campaign was paid for with funds from the local hotel/motel tax.

“The objective since day one has been to bring more positive publicity to Habersham County and all of our great local businesses and attractions,” she says.

With a goal to “help build the hype” around what Habersham has to offer, h20 videographer Ben Galland says it didn’t take long for the work to become an adventure.

“We found ourselves being guided from one hidden beauty to the next with the help of friends we made along the way. Popping in at a local business always led to conversations about their favorite spots, adventures, shops, and restaurants- creating a road map all throughout the Habersham County roads, mountains, lakes, and trails.”

“It became evident just how much Habersham loves their community,” adds h20 video stylist Jess Austin. “We wanted to capture that love, charm, and welcoming spirit in the video. Our goal was for tourists, families, day-trippers, and adventure seekers to see the My Mountain Moment video and really feel the beauty, opportunities, and hospitality that we felt.”
