Four decades after parting ways at Raider Stadium with their diplomas in hand, the Habersham Central High Class of 1984 will gather once more.

Class members are organizing a 40-year reunion to be held at Copey Creek near Clarkesville from 6-11 p.m. on Saturday, August 10.

Wolf Creek BBQ is catering the event. The cost is $20 cash, paid at the door.

“We share a special time and period of life; that’s the reason we’re doing this – it’s just a sense of community,” says reunion co-organizer Kerry Edwards.

Kim Taylor Smith and Andrea Skinner Jones are also helping to organize the reunion. They’ve set up a Facebook page for class members to reconnect and RSVP.

If you plan to attend, please let them know by Wednesday, August 7.

With ’80s music and lots of shared memories – and new ones to be made – this reunion promises to be a special evening.

“Don’t let your gray hair or paunch keep you from coming back and seeing your classmates,” encourages Edwards light heartedly.

The venue is located at 109 Copey Creek Road off Hardman Road north of Clarkesville. For more information or to RSVP by phone, call 770-503-6956.
