The Habersham County Little League 9/10 All-Stars fought off elimination in four straight games before falling in the the District 7 tournament final game.
After an initial 12-1 win over Madison on June 24, Habersham fell on June 25 to Toccoa, 12-2. That loss put them in the elimination bracket, where they battled to stay alive with a a 14-4 win over Franklin on June 26 and a 3-1 win over Rabun on June 27.
On June 28, they continued the hot streak with a 10-6 win over Hart, advancing back into the winner’s bracket against Toccoa. This time the results were different, as Habersham avenged their previous loss with a 5-1 win on June 29. Needing to beat Toccoa twice (since Toccoa had yet to lose), Habersham fell in the winner-take-all June 30 game, 13-4.
The 9/10 All-Stars, managed by Mike Mills, are the District 7 Champions. Jeff Spivey is the head coach, and Gene Smith is the assistant coach. Members of the team include Logan Brown, Caleb Campbell, Jackson Carlan, Spencer Frady, Griffin Harkness, Dalan James, Jaydon King, Nick McConnell, Charles Mills, Callum Spivey, Gage Teague and Joseph Wallace.
The 13/14 Junior League All-Stars fell 27-0 to Hart in their opening game and again 8-1 against Hart. The 11/12 Majors begin their tournament on July 10. The Senior League All-Stars fell 9-8 to Hart, but will face them again July 3 in an elimination game.
