Cornelia Police are searching for the gunman who held up a local store Monday night.
It happened around 9:25 p.m. at the ABC Foods store at 873 North Main Street. Police Chief Chad Smith says a black male, age 20-25, entered the store brandishing a pistol and demanded money from the clerk. The clerk complied and the suspect left the scene with an undisclosed amount of money. No one was hurt.
Smith says the man was described as 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-10, weighing 180 to 210 pounds.
“The suspect was wearing a bulky white hoodie,” Smith says. “It is believed the suspect may have been wearing black pants.”
