Habitat for Humanity of Northeast Georgia will host a groundbreaking ceremony this Saturday, August 10th. Due to weather, the event was rescheduled from July 20th and reset for August 10th but Brian Young, Executive Director said, “The weather looks great for this event. We hope everyone will come out to support these two families and all the volunteers.”
It is important to note, that families are required to put in 300 sweat equity hours. Many help with construction while others put in hours as well helping other families. The groundbreaking ceremony is located at 328 Rockford Creek Rd, Clarkesville, GA.
“We are breaking ground on these two homes at 10 a.m. These houses will make our 79th and 80th,” Young added.
Young wanted to remind everyone about the opportunity available to be a part of something new at Habitat of Humanity of Northeast Georgia. It is called the Carpenter’s Club and it has people talking about the fun of being involved in a project that changes lives.
“100 percent of the proceeds from donations through The Carpenter’s Club go toward building houses. We have five families on the waiting list and many applications to review. Houses are tailored to the individual’s needs and family size,” Young explained.
