BOSTON – Piedmont’s Julia Graham wrapped up her 2019 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships on Friday after competing in the women’s 60m hurdles.

Graham finished third in the second heat race and needed to wait for the results for the third and final heat race.

The top runner in each race advanced with the next five fastest times also advancing.

Graham’s time of 8.87 fell just .03 of the eighth and final transfer spot.

Her time also set a new Piedmont record in the event.

Graham entered the championships as the 20th seeded runner and finished ninth overall.

The junior had a magical season as she became the first Piedmont athlete to qualify for the championships and earned All-Region honors in the 60m, 400m and 60m hurdles. Graham also set four school records this season in the 60m, 200m, 400m, and 60m hurdles.

Graham also improved her personal best in the 60m hurdles by 0.58 from last season. She will now shift her focus to the outdoor season as the Lions compete in the Shamrock Invitational on March 14-16 in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
