According to ACCPD Lt. Shaun Barnett, the department was notified that the teen had been kidnapped from Enterprise, Alabama, and the victim was potentially located in Athens.

“Officers extensively searched our jurisdiction and subsequently located the suspect vehicle in the 200 block of Sycamore Drive,” Barnett says. “The juvenile was recovered safely.”

Police arrested 21-year-old Alvaro Salvador of Enterprise, Alabama, and charged him with kidnapping, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, two counts of felony identity theft fraud, and driving without a license.

“It is our understanding that the 21-year-old suspect and 14-year-old victim were known to each other,” Barnett tells Now Habersham.

Officers booked Salvador into the Clarke County Jail where he’s currently awaiting extradition to Alabama on charges of kidnapping and interference with custody.
