A United States Capitol Police officer injured in Wednesday’s riot at the Capitol has died, officials confirm. Capitol Police Officer Brian D. Sicknick passed away Thursday.

Dozens of police officers were injured in violent clashes with Trump supporters at the U.S. Capitol. Videos are circulating of other officers pulling back barriers to allow crowds through and taking selfies with protesters.

Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund resigned Thursday amid criticism his team was unprepared for the crisis.

Four people died in the rioting, including a 34-year-old woman from Georgia. Rosanne Boyland of Kennesaw was one of three people who died after suffering “medical emergencies,” said Metro Police Chief Robert Contee. The two others were 55-year-old Kevin Greeson of Athens, Alabama, and 50-year-old Benjamin Phillips of Ringtown, Pennsylvania.

Police did not provide details of their deaths.

A fourth person was shot and killed by a Capitol Police officer as rioters breached the corridor outside House chambers.

35-year-old Ashli Babbitt of Huntington, Maryland, was with a group that forced their way into the corridor. As Babbit passed through the broken window the officer fired. She later died at the hospital.

There are reports that the officer is now on administrative leave pending an investigation.

At least 56 Metropolitan Police and more than a dozen Capitol Police officers were injured. Several of them were hospitalized.

Police arrested dozens of people, including at least one North Georgia man.

Grant Moore of Buford, was arrested on suspicion of carrying a pistol without a license and having unlawful ammunition, a list released by Capitol Police shows.

Metropolitan PD says six firearms and two pipe bombs were recovered.
