In a game filled with drama and resilience, No. 7 Georgia defeated Georgia Tech 44-42 in eight overtimes Friday night at Sanford Stadium. The Bulldogs overcame a 17-0 halftime deficit and trailed by 14 points with just over five minutes left in regulation before rallying to secure their seventh straight win over the Yellow Jackets.
Quarterback Carson Beck led the comeback with two late touchdown passes to Dominic Lovett, tying the game at 27 with just over a minute remaining. In overtime, both teams traded touchdowns and failed attempts, pushing the game into the record-tying eighth overtime.
Georgia sealed the victory when Nate Frazier scored from the 3-yard line after the Bulldogs’ defense forced an incompletion.

The win extended Georgia’s dominance in the rivalry, now leading the all-time series 72-39-5. The Bulldogs finished the regular season 10-2 and now prepare for the SEC Championship against either Texas or Texas A&M.
Despite being outgained 563-405, Georgia showed determination, outscoring Tech 44-25 after halftime to claim the epic victory and a spot in the college football playoff.
