(GPB) — Georgians will have two chances to fish for free, without a license, this month.
The two Free Fishing Days, June 5 and June 12 are in recognition of National Fishing and Boating Week.
Melissa Cummings with the Georgia Department of Natural Resources said it’s a good chance for people who aren’t sure about fishing to give it a try.
“It’s kind of like that one free trial class, except we’re giving you two of them within the same week,” she said.
A fishing license costs $15 for one year. New anglers can buy them and learn about fishing in Georgia at georgiawildlife.com.
Georgia also offers one additional free fishing day on September 25, 2021, on National Hunting and Fishing Day.
