It’s been five days since Hurricane Michael hit and crews are still working to restore electricity in parts of the Georgia.

This afternoon (Oct. 15), Georgia Power announced it has restored power to 97 percent, or more than 375,000 of its customers, impacted by the storm. The company still expects to have power fully restored by Oct. 16.

Georgia’s electric membership cooperatives (EMCs) also report continuing progress in their efforts to restore power to members. As of Oct. 15, approximately 50,000 EMC customers were still without power in the southern and middle parts of the state.
