George Andrew LeQuier

George Andrew LeQuier, age 87 of Homer, Georgia, passed away June 22, 2018 at a Memory Care facility in Commerce, Georgia.

Funeral services are to be announced.

George was born in Royal Oak, Michigan to Joseph & Mary LeQuier on September 7, 1930.  He attended St. Mary’s of Royal Oak where he was a 4 sport letterman in football, baseball, track and basketball.

George married Josephine Mary Stevens on August 9, 1958 in Bridgeport, Michigan.

He played both football and baseball in college, graduating from Wayne State University.

George worked primarily as an X-Ray Technician for multiple hospitals and medical centers, he also worked in multiple capacities for the Department of Defense, the Florida Department of Corrections, & Pan Am at the Kennedy Space Center.

George was a veteran of the Korean War and proudly served in the U.S. Navy on the USS Thuban.

George was awarded the Good Conduct Medal, the National Defense Medal, the Korean Medal and the United Nations Medal.

George is preceded in death by his wife Josephine, both of his parents, brother Joseph LeQuier of Mio, Michigan and sister Mary Elizabeth LeQuier of Ridgeville, South Carolina.

George is survived by 3 daughters Patricia LeQuier-Tyson (Larry) of Birmingham, Alabama, Sharon Jackson (Larry) of Valrico, Florida, Ann Whitmore (Allen) of Crestview, Florida, and 2 Sons Michael (Jan) of Turtletown, Tennessee & Peter (Kristin) of Homer, Georgia; 3 Brothers, Thomas, David and Robert, 15 Grandchildren and 2 Great Grandchildren.
