GBI investigates possible murder-suicide in Jackson County

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation has been brought in to investigate the deaths of two people in Jackson County.

Authorities are investigating the deaths of Thomas Markee, 60, and Alison Markee, 56, both of Arcade. The two were found dead Tuesday, Oct. 15, after police responded to a domestic incident at a home on Azalea Drive in Arcade, the GBI says.

A preliminary investigation “indicates that Thomas Markee fatally injured his wife, Alison Markee, and then killed himself,” according to GBI.

Both bodies were taken to the GBI Crime Lab for autopsies.
