GBI arrests Baldwin man who was injured in stabbing

A Baldwin man who was seriously wounded when he was stabbed in his home on April 4 is now in jail in connection with that stabbing.

The GBI arrested 28-year-old Matthew Corey Jones on April 10. He’s charged with battery under the Family Violence Act and two counts of aggravated assault.

Officials tell Now Habersham the incident stemmed from an apparent domestic dispute.

Jones was stabbed multiple times in the abdomen. Two men were arrested in connection with his stabbing. 27-year-old Tidous Mitchell Thomas of Madison and 29-year-old Jonathan Michael Wallis of Lawrenceville were both charged with aggravated assault.

All three were booked at the Habersham County jail. Thomas and Wallis remain in jail on $27,600 bond each. Bond has not yet been set for Jones
