Gatsby Gala a roaring success

Cornelia’s 4th Annual Casino Night Fundraiser to benefit the Downtown Revitalization Fund was held Saturday, March 7th at the Community House in Cornelia.  The theme this year was the Roaring 20’s, and Downtown Manager Heather Sinyard tells Now Habersham it was a roaring success! “It was our best one yet! The theme really inspired everyone to dress for the occasion. It was so successful and so much fun that we plan to carry the theme into the 2016 event, too.  I think we had about 300 in attendance including our many local sponsors, pre-purchased tickets and tickets sold at the door. It was a packed house!”

Sinyard says the event raised well over $4,000. Proceeds benefit Cornelia’s Downtown Revitalization Fund. This fund goes directly back to local businesses in downtown that apply for grants to do façade improvements on their buildings or to purchase signage. Sinyard explains, “The façade improvements can be anything from paint to new awnings, refurbishing brick, windows or doors. Anything that makes the building more aesthetically pleasing.”
