Another Republican has joined the District 50 Georgia Senate race. Andy Garrison of Jefferson is running for the seat currently held by Sen. John Wilkinson (R-Toccoa). Garrison is the principal managing partner of Inland Realty in Jefferson and president of The Garrison Company.
In 2011, he retired as the director of the Georgia Public Safety Training Center in Athens.
Garrison is the third GOP candidate to enter the race since Wilkinson announced he’s running for Congress. Habersham County Commission Chair Stacy Hall and Cornelia attorney Bo Hatchett have launched their campaigns. Clarkesville attorney Tricia Hise, also a Republican, is expected to make an announcement soon on whether she’ll run.
