GARNETT “AARON” WILBANKS, age 61, of Lula, Georgia, passed away on Friday, October 31, 2014 following an extended illness.
Mr. Wilbanks was born on December 09, 1952 in Demorest, Georgia to the late Garnett Wilbanks and Maebell Whitlock Wilbanks. He was a member of Mt. View Baptist Church. He was also a Veteran of The United States Army and also served in the Army Reserve and The National Guard. He is employed with Lee Arrendale Correctional Institute. He is preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Betty Sue Wilbanks.
Survivors include his wife, Teresa Wilbanks, Lula, GA; sons and daughters-in-law, Jonathan and Carla Wilbanks, Lula, GA, and Jeremy and Lori Wilbanks, Alto, GA; sisters, Gwinn Hunnicutt, Demorest, GA, Elaine Free, Alto, GA, and Juanita Crumley, Alto, GA; 7 grandchildren, Rebecca, Colton, Cohen, Eli and Ryleigh Wilbanks; 2 step-grandchildren, Dillon and Hannah Wilcox.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 3, 2014 at Whitfield Funeral Home, North Chapel, Demorest, GA with Rev. Jamie Harvey, Rev. Chad Parker, and Chaplain Clare Whitlock officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens, with Military Honors provided by the Georgia National Guard.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, November 2, 2014.
