Habersham County Emergency Services responded Tuesday morning to a residential structure fire on Highland Drive, located off The Orchard Road near Clarkesville.
According to Habersham County Public Information Officer Ashlyn Brady, responding units encountered heavy smoke and observed that the majority of the fire was concentrated in the garage area of the home.
Four residents were inside the home at the time of the incident, but all were able to safely evacuate without injury.
Emergency response included personnel and units from Habersham County Emergency Services, Baldwin Fire Department, Habersham County Sheriff’s Office, and the Lee Arrendale State Prison Fire Department Team.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation by the State Fire Marshal’s Office.
