Gainsville man arrested in child pornography case

A Hall County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force investigation resulted in the recent arrest of a Gainesville man on charges related to child pornography.

According to a press release from HCSO, deputies took Reynaldo David Pablo-Lopez, 17, into custody on Friday morning, June 11. He faces four counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

According to preliminary details, on November 26, 2020, Pablo-Lopez possessed at least one photo of child pornography on an electronic device. He also distributed the image through Snapchat. On March 11, 2021, officials say Pablo-Lopez possessed at least one video depicting sexual abuse of a child and transmitted the video through Instagram.

The case began on May 27, when agents received cyber tips from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. They executed a search warrant at Pablo-Lopez’s Mill Street home on June 9, seizing several electronic devices.

Pablo-Lopez was booked into the Hall County Jail following his arrest. He was released on an $11,800 bond on Saturday evening.

The case remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office and Georgia ICAC Task Force.
