A 25-year-old Gainesville man has been arrested following a search at both his home on Harmony Church Road and at his workplace.
Investigators with the Hall County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO) Internet Crimes Against Children Unit (ICAC) found evidence of child sex abuse material (CSAM), seven counts for possession of CSAM, and seven for distribution of CSAM.
William Porter Martin was arrested on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. The alleged illegal activity occurred between July 1 and July 17, 2023. A cyber tip alerted investigators to Martin who had in his possession six videos and one still image of young girls engaged in sexually explicit poses. Hall County Sheriff’s Office reported that Martin had shared the materials on a social media app. Also noted in the report is there is no evidence the children depicted in the materials are from the local area.
Investigators seized several electronic devices from Martin’s home and his person at the time of his arrest. Additional charges may be made as the investigation continues.
Martin remains in the Hall County Jail with no bond.
