Gainesville man charged with child molestation

Hall County deputies arrested a Gainesville man Thursday as part of a child molestation investigation that began earlier this year.

Lance Everett Frier, 50, was taken into custody on May 7 at his residence in the 5100 block of Butler Road. Investigators obtained an arrest warrant on him for one count of child molestation.

According to the preliminary investigation, between August of 2019 and February of 2020, Frier performed an immoral and indecent act in the presence of a female child at his residence, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office. He was acquainted with the victim prior to the incident.

The Sheriff’s Office investigation began on February 2 when the incident was reported to deputies. The victim had disclosed the crime to an adult family member who notified law enforcement.

Frier remained in the Hall County Jail without bond as of Friday afternoon, May 8.
The case remains under investigation by the Hall County Sheriff’s.
