Hall County sheriff’s investigators confiscated a range of illegal drugs and arrested a man caught selling drugs in a neighborhood less than half a mile from Gainesville High School.
The undercover investigation led to a search of an apartment in the 1000 block of Rainey Street on Monday, October 2. According to the sheriff’s office, during the search, investigators confiscated approximately 30 grams of psilocybin mushrooms, nine psilocybin-infused chocolate bars, seven grams of cocaine, 600 grams of marijuana, 23 THC oil vapes, and four one-ounce containers of THC oil resin. Investigators also found packaging material and scales in the apartment.
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit (SIU) obtained arrest warrants for 26-year-old apartment resident Samuel Villa.
Investigators charged Villa with multiple drug-related felonies, including four counts of selling a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school.
Authorities also charged Villa with possession with intent to distribute psilocybin, cocaine, marijuana, and THC oil. He’s also charged with felony marijuana possession.
The total estimated street value of the seized drugs is approximately $4,000, according to investigators.
Villa was booked in at the Hall County Jail on Wednesday, October 4, where he remained held without bond at last check.
The case remains under investigation by SIU.
