GBI agents arrested a Gainesville man Friday and charged him in connection with a child cybersex crime investigation.
Agents charged 43-year-old Billy Eller with two counts of possessing child pornography and two counts of distributing child porn.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) tipped off Homeland Security that Eller might be using a popular social media application to possess and distribute the illicit material. Homeland Security investigated along with the GBI.
Eller is currently being held in the Hall County Jail.
The investigation is part of the ongoing effort by the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force to shut down the child pornography trade.
Anyone with information about this case or any other cases of child exploitation is asked to contact the Georgia Bureau of Investigation Child Exploitation and Computer Crimes Unit at 404-270-8870.
