Investigators have filed another felony charge against a Gainesville man accused of sexually exploiting children.
The Hall County Sheriff’s Office and Georgia Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force added a second count of felony sexual exploitation of a minor against Sean Louis Rose. The 34-year-old Rose possessed “at least ten images and ten videos of children being sexually abused on his cell phone,” according to the added charge.
Investigators obtained the warrant for the additional charge on October 6 after receiving data from forensic processing of Rose’s phone. Deputies served him with the warrant at the Hall County Jail where Rose has been held since his arrest on September 29.
According to initial details, between May 31 and June 1, 2021, Rose possessed at least one screenshot that contained three photos of children being sexually abused, the sheriff’s office says. The screenshot was stored within his Google account, which was accessible from his cell phone.
HCSO investigators began working on the case on August 13, after receiving a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). Detectives obtained a search warrant for Rose’s Google account and received the data on September 10. On September 29, investigators executed a search warrant at his home on Webb Girth Road and seized several electronic devices.
The information about Rose’s activity made its way to Georgia from Will County, Illinois, where he previously lived. Authorities investigating Rose in Will County learned he had moved to Georgia and notified the NCMEC.
