Gainesville is hosting its first “Coffee with the Chiefs”

Fire Chief Brandon Ellis with Police Chief Jay Parrish invite you to "Coffee with the Chiefs" (Hall County Fire Department)

The City of Gainesville is hosting its inaugural “Coffee with the Chiefs” event on Monday, April 22, 2024, to celebrate Georgia Cities Week. Gainesville Police Chief Jay Parrish and Gainesville Fire Chief Brandon Ellis will be on hand from 8-9:30 a.m. to connect with residents and answer questions.

The Coffee with the Chiefs event will take place from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in the Lobby of the Historic Gainesville City Hall, located at 117 Jesse Jewell Parkway in downtown Gainesville. If planning to attend, please note on-site parking is limited. Please use the Main Street Parking Deck, located at 301 Main St. SW, or Hall County Parking Facility, located at 225 Green St. SE. Both decks are located within walking distance of the venue. Accessible parking is located just outside the building but is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Meet the Chiefs in the lobby

Chief Brandon Ellis, Fire Chief for the City of Gainesville, is excited about the event and believes it will be something that will continue every year. “The City is growing and expanding. We find that people have questions and don’t know how to get those questions answered.”

Chief Ellis said he and Chief Parrish will be in the lobby of the redesigned City Hall and look forward to meeting and talking with people about their concerns. He explained that the idea of the coffee was a collaborative effort and something they had wanted to do for a while.

“Public Relations Director Christina Santee came and talked with us about the idea. We were fully on board and ready to do it!” Chief Ellis added.

Free event for everyone

This is a free event and open to the public. All attendees are welcome to grab a cup of coffee, a donut, and shake the hands of city leaders.
