Funerals held for three teens killed in wreck

Funeral services are scheduled this week for three teenagers killed in an automobile accident Friday in Martin. Tristin Helton and Kennedy Wright, both of Clarkesville, and Macklen-Jace Eli Alexander of Martin were killed in a single-vehicle wreck on Brookhaven Circle shortly after midnight on June 30.

Helton was 18 years old and was a 2017 graduate of White County High School. She attended Bethlehem Baptist Church in Clarkesville.

Funeral services were held on Monday, July 3, at Hillside Memorial Chapel in Clarkesville. Tristin is survived by her mother Julia Burton of Clarkesville, her father and stepmother Brian and Amanda Helton of Cleveland, and her step-brother and sister.

Kennedy Wright
Kennedy Ruthann “Smurf” Wright

Wright was 16 years old and a rising Junior at Habersham Central High School. She was a member of the Lady Raider Basketball team. She’s remembered as “a proud big sister” who enjoyed reading, and loved animals.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 5, at Foothills Community Church in Cornelia.

Kennedy is survived by her mother and step-father Leah Popham Misencik and Garrett Misencik of Clarkesville, her father and step-mother Matt and Allison Wright of Alto, three brothers and a sister.

Macklen- Jace Eli Alexander
Macklen- Jace Eli Alexander

The 17-year-old Alexander was a rising senior at Stephens County High School and was employed with Tractor Supply. He was a member of the Stephens County High School Football and Wrestling Teams.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, July 5.

Eli is survived by his parents Stephen Alexander and Shameka Scott, his three brothers and a sister.

Fourth teen succumbs to injuries

A fourth teen, 17-year-old Kainan Terrell Green of Toccoa, was critically injured in the wreck. He passed away on July 7 after spending a week in intensive care at Northeast Georgia Medical Center in Gainesville.

Funeral arrangements for Green have not yet been announced.
