Funeral set for Eastanollee teen killed in chuch van wreck

A community left reeling from the sudden, tragic loss of a young teenager will now have a chance to say goodbye. The funeral service for Theodore “Teddy” Bone is set for Tuesday, July 16.

The 15-year-old from Eastanollee was fatally injured when an alleged DUI driver crashed into the church van he was riding in on June 29. The wreck on GA 365 South in Demorest left Teddy brain dead. He was taken off life support on July 3. At the time, his family announced they were donating his organs.

Teddy was participating in a youth mission project with River Point Community Church in Demorest when the wreck occurred. His death sent shockwaves through the community; the grief was compounded by the circumstances surrounding the crash.

Barry Thomas Clark, 64, of Hartwell, has been charged with first-degree vehicular homicide. He is out of jail on bond.

The Bone family will receive family and friends during visitation at Acree-Davis Funeral Home in Toccoa from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, July 15. The funeral home is located at 90 South Pond Street in Toccoa.

Teddy’s funeral is scheduled for 4 p.m. on July 16 at Tom’s Creek Baptist Church in Martin, Georgia.
