FRESH & LOCAL at the Clarkesville Farmers Market, October 22

It’s hard to believe, but this Saturday will be the last market day of the 2016 season. And what a fantastic season it’s been. Good food. Good friends. Good for the Habersham community. Don’t miss your last chance this season to shop at the Clarkesville Farmers Market and snag some perfect holiday gifts.

Conveniently located near downtown Clarkesville, the Clarkesville Farmers Market is a 100% chemical free outdoor market (which includes up to six Certified Naturally Grown farms) that’s open Saturdays, 9 a.m. until noon. It’s located next to The Old Clarkesville Mill (683 Grant Street).

This week’s vendors:

Angel Mountain Sweets: Angel Mountain Sweets will be offering fresh pumpkin bread and pies, plus other specialty breads, cakes and pies. Yes, it’s the last weekend for the market, but AMS will make weekly post-season deliveries to the market site. Follow us on Facebook to stay in touch.

Aprons–Ties That Bind: End of the Season Special: Purchase any handmade apron and receive a gift! Sadie is a local maker of aprons, aprons, and more aprons. She makes them for babies, children, teens, women, and even men. Some aprons are fun, others are cute, others are creative, but all are great for utilitarian use. They make wonderful gifts for the holidays!

Healing Earth Farm (CNG): Morris will be back this week with his delicious local raw honey.

Jarhead Farm (CNG): Cliff will be offering a special Fall collection of 8 oz. jams: a set of four (1 ea/Sweet Georgia Peach, Georgia Muscadine, Apple Tart, and Cinnamon Apple/plum) for $22. Now that’s an economical Christmas present from North Georgia! He’ll also have the hottest peppers in the world, plus Aji Dulce sweet peppers, green tomatoes, dried herbs, and a couple of maybes:  Asian eggplant and late season Marzano tomatoes.

K and H Farms: Cavonna will be at the market this Saturday with local pastured meats (chicken and pork). Contact her this week via Facebook if you need to set up an order prior to Saturday. Bring your cooler and load it up!

Mill Gap Farm (CNG): Mill Gap will be there with sweet potatoes, lots of greens (turnip, curly mustard, maruba santoh, and mixed), and herbs. Plus, sunchoke pickles, Amy’s Burmese peanuts, organic turkey wheat artisan bread, and cardamom morning rolls.

Pure & Simple: Lisa will be featuring her newest natural health and beauty products: Patchouli & Cedar Soap, Pumpkin Goat Milk Soap, Lavender Dish Soap. She’ll also have hair lotion/beard oil & essential oil roll-ons in three popular scents―citrus, lavender, and peppermint, plus a variety of naturally handmade soaps, lip balm, sugar/salt scrub, deodorant, sunscreen, bug repellent, household cleaner, pain cream, body butter, hair oil, hand sanitizer, facial cream, liquid soap, foaming soap, dog & people shampoo bars, laundry soap, bath salts, shave soap, and herbal teas. It’s the perfect time to load up on stocking stuffers and gifts.
