Franklin serves as State Senate Chaplain of the Day

(ATLANTA) – Senator John Wilkinson (R – Toccoa) welcomed Pastor Mike Franklin, Senior Pastor of The Torch in Demorest, Georgia, to serve as Chaplain of the Day on Wednesday, February 15, 2017, in the Georgia State Senate.

Sen. Wilkinson says he was honored to have Pastor Franklin serve as Senate Chaplain for the day. “His work with our community has been outstanding and it was an absolute pleasure to have him share such inspirational words with the Senate.”

Pastor Mike obtained his Bachelor of Science degree from Lee University, M. Ed. from the University of South Alabama and Masters of Divinity from the Church of God of Theology. He has served over 38 years in pastoral ministry and is currently serving his 16th year as Senior Pastor of The Torch in Demorest, Georgia. Pastor Mike has also authored two books, Disciplines and God Understands. He is married to wife Connie Franklin of 34 years and they have three children, two daughter-in-laws and four grandchildren.
