The Habersham Board of Education voted Thursday to select Patrick Franklin to become principal of Clarkesville Elementary. Principal Tim Goss is retiring. Franklin will leave North Habersham Middle School to move to Clarkesville Elementary. School superintendent Matthew Cooper said that Franklin is a graduate of the Habersham schools and that he “has great leadership skills.”
Wilbanks Middle gets new assistant principal
Also voted into a new position Thursday was Chris Chitwood, currently a math teacher at Habersham Central, who will become the new Assistant Principal at Hilliard A. Wilbanks Middle School. Chitwood replaces Rodney Long, who is moving to the high school’s Success Academy.
