Fifteen students walked away from a school bus crash Tuesday in Franklin County. The Georgia State Patrol says the students were onboard a bus that struck a pickup truck at the end of the school day near Franklin County High School.

Both drivers and a juvenile passenger in the pickup also escpaed unharmed.

Troopers responded to the two-vehicle crash at Stone Bridge Road and High Road around 3:12 p.m. on August 27.

The preliminary accident report states 58-year-old Larry Davis of Canon was driving the bus. As he attempted to turn west onto Stone Bridge Road, troopers say Davis failed to yield and pulled into the path of an eastbound Chevrolet Colorado driven by 52-year-old Kenneth Vaughn of Lavonia.

According to Trooper Jeremy Hopkins of Georgia State Patrol Post 52 in Hartwell, the front of the school bus struck the passenger side of the pickup. The collision disabled both vehicles and they had to be towed from the scene.
