Francis “Xavier” Gannon II, beloved son and brother died on Thursday October 8, 2015 in Wilmington, North Carolina.
He is survived by his parents Frank and Paulette Gannon of Demorest, sister and brother-in-law Aimee and Michael Hoffer, and nephew and niece Jude and August Hoffer of Atlanta, sister and brother-in-law Annie and Aaron Kaufman of Decatur, and maternal grandfather Jean Piquet of Montreal, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Born in Stephens County on August 27, 1986, Xavier was a kind and gentle soul. He loved listening to music of all genres, and playing the guitar. He was very well read, and was a talented and prolific writer. He cared deeply for animals, and was happiest spending quiet time in nature. He was a graduate of Habersham Central High School, and attended Young Harris College, and Edison College. He is preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Bernard and Anne Gannon, and his maternal grandmother Marie Piquet. Xavier was a beautiful person, and will be greatly missed.
A funeral mass for Francis Xavier Gannon II, age 29 will be held Friday October 16, 2015, at 10:00am at St. Mark’s Catholic Church of Clarkesville, with Father Jose officiating.
