Frances Freeman Barrett

Frances Freeman Barrett, age 86 of Alto passed away on Monday, November 13, 2017.

Born in White County on October 23, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Nellie Mae Pressley Freeman. Mrs. Barrett was the co-owner and operator of Barrett’s Sale Barn with over 30 years experience and was a member of B.C. Grant Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family, friends, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Joe Barrett; brothers, J.B. Freeman, Jesse Freeman and Truman Freeman; sister, Corine Freeman.

Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, David & Jo Dee Barrett of Gainesville and Chet & Vickie Barrett of Mt. Airy; daughter, Nancy Barrett of Alto; grandchildren, Tim Barrett, Jessica & Casey Martin, Kyle Barrett and Harley Beth Davis; great grandchild, Cy Martin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Lawrence & Dot Freeman of Gainesville and Russell & Barbara Freeman of Cleveland; sisters and brother-in-law, Charlie Mae & Thomas Glaze of Cleveland and Florine Shore of Alto; sister-in-law, Joyce Freeman of Cornelia; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 pm, Wednesday, November 15, 2017 from the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Rice and Rev. Anthony Shore officiating. Interment will follow in Yonah Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 pm on Tuesday at the funeral home.
