The Rabun County Sheriff’s Office has obtained warrants on four alleged drug traffickers from South Carolina. Officials say that the four were identified after deputies discovered a wrecked vehicle in Dillard loaded with drugs.
When deputies responded to the single-vehicle wreck on GA 15/US 441 and Bettys Creek Road on May 31, they didn’t find anyone in the vehicle but did find what they suspected to be drugs. That prompted an investigation during which they learned the vehicle’s occupants were staying at a hotel in Dillard.
“During a search for the occupants, deputies located additional narcotics, drug paraphernalia, two firearms, and magazines that were thrown behind a structure,” the sheriff’s office states.
One of the guns recovered was reported to be stolen.
In total, authorities say they seized 40 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 322 grams of cocaine, and 10 grams of crack cocaine. The drugs have an estimated street value of $36,400.
The sheriff’s office took out warrants on Fredricko Craig of Florence, South Carolina, Kerri Boggs, Cassidy Loper, and Lewis Stewart, all of Walhalla, South Carolina. They’re each charged with trafficking cocaine and methamphetamine, possession of Schedule II narcotics, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, theft by receiving, making false statements, and traffic-related offenses.
