A fire forced four adults from their Gainesville home Thursday afternoon.

At approximately 3:40 p.m. on August 17, Hall County Fire Rescue responded to the 3400 block of Jet-Wright Road for reports of a residential fire. When they arrived, crews found a small fire on the first floor of the residence and began an offensive attack.

The residents got out safely before firefighters arrived. Hall County Fire and Rescue Public Information Officer Kimberlie Ledsinger says firefighters extinguished the bulk of the blaze quickly.

As of 5:30 p.m. Thursday, crews were still on the scene ventilating the structure.

Due to the damage, the fire department contacted the American Red Cross to help the two men and two women who lived in the home.

Ledsingers says the cause of the fire is unknown. The Hall County Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
