Authorities say foul play is suspected after a body was found in a brushy area in Oglethorpe County near the Clarke County line, according to the Oglethorpe County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office and GBI opened the investigation after the discovery on Tuesday, Feb. 25.
GBI forensic teams have been at the scene to process evidence and continue the search. Authorities have indicated that foul play is suspected in the case.
At this time, the identity of the person hasn’t been released.
Officials say the name will be released once a positive identification is made and next of kin have been notified. The investigation is ongoing.
